Mental Noise At Night
If you don’t allow your mind to speak to you during the day it will sneak up on you and make noise when you’re trying to fall asleep at night.
Your day is busy. You have work, school, maybe kids. You listen to music and podcasts to fill the gaps. You watch the news and Netflix in the morning, with dinner, and before going to bed.
You spend most of your day distracting your mind.
You leave little or no time to process your thoughts and emotions. But your thoughts and emotions demand your attention.
Your mind will create mental noise when it has the opportunity to. When you’re lying quietly in bed trying to fall asleep.
You don’t need to have a structured meditation or journaling practice, although they can be extremely helpful.
You just need some time to give your mind the opportunity to make some mental noise during the day. Some time to reflect on your thoughts and emotions without judgement.
If you do this you’ll likely be met with a clear and quiet mind when you’re lying in bed trying to fall asleep at night.
